Jon Reid is a former high-performance junior and university hockey athlete with a passion for helping individuals improve their health, performance, and quality of life through exercise. Following his playing career, he completed a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Master of Kinesiology at Memorial University, where he collaborated with leading sport scientists and researchers, helping shape his evidence-based, sport science-driven approach to training and rehabilitation.

Over the past eight years, Jon has worked with athletes ranging from youth to professional levels. His experience includes serving as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Newfoundland Growlers and providing performance support through Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador. Through these roles, he has helped athletes improve strength, power, conditioning, movement quality, and overall performance while navigating the physical demands of competitive sport.

As a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Kinesiology Association, Jon applies the principles of exercise science to support not only athletes but also individuals seeking to improve their overall health and wellness. Whether working with someone returning to exercise, managing a chronic condition, recovering from injury, or pursuing athletic goals, Jon focuses on developing individualized programs that are practical, effective, and built around long-term success.

At Ascend Health, Jon combines coaching experience, scientific knowledge, and a client-centered approach to help people move better, feel better, and perform at their best.
