Lisa McCarthy

Lisa is the Head Physiotherapist for the Newfoundland Regiment Hockey Club and the only physiotherapist in Newfoundland and Labrador to hold a Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy (Canada), a nationally recognized designation for advanced training and expertise in sport injury management and rehabilitation.

Originally from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, Lisa completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) at Memorial University before earning her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University. She spent six years practicing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she developed extensive experience working with athletes at recreational, collegiate, national, and professional levels.

Throughout her career, Lisa has worked with a wide range of teams and sporting events, including serving as a team therapist for the Halifax Hurricanes. She has also been selected to provide medical coverage at major multisport events, including the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island and the 2023 North American Indigenous Games in Halifax. Her experience spans numerous sports, including hockey, basketball, soccer, rugby, cheerleading, wheelchair tennis, and SailGP.

Lisa is passionate about helping athletes and active individuals recover from injury, optimize performance, and confidently return to sport. Her approach combines evidence-based rehabilitation, exercise prescription, and a deep understanding of the physical demands of competition to help clients achieve their goals both on and off the field of play.
